A hedge book is created based on the Consumer’s monthly consumption needs. This involves taking up buy positions on SAFEX, which may include futures buy positions, options strategies, or a combination of both. The Consumer is then required to realize these positions by taking physical delivery of grain as agreed, based on the delivered basis.
